The municipal seat is surrounded by hills: Las Cristalinas hill, Kyaq Aaba'aj hill, Kajnom hill, it is the part where the Tz'utujil Indians have settled. It has three villages in the highlands: Palestina, Panyebar and Pasajquim, which are indigenous Mayan K'iches.
